Surrendering to God

We are told to surrender our drinking and drug problems to our higher power, yet that is exactly what we don't want to do. We've been brought up believing that we  alone are responsible for our selves. We think we are suppose to fight, control; make things happen. It puts an enormous stress on us, but it seems stressful to surrender too. To just let go can make us feel helpless, and like we're not doing enough. But if you've banged your head up against a wall long enough, maybe it's time to try a different tactic. By surrendering and being still, you may just feel God's love pouring into you and your life. You might just find yourself healing.
