Addicted to Misery

Neuroscientists have discovered that when we experience guilt, shame, or worry our brain's reward center is activated. No wonder we have a hard time not worrying about things. In order to keep your emotions and life on an even keel, it helps to label your feelings. Simply understanding why your brain feels the need to obsess about negative emotions or experiences can help. As mentioned before, meditation can help calm your emotions. Remember, you may have 100 good things happen to you today, but the bad experience is what you'll be inclined to think about. Have gratitude for the good things in your life.
